On the way to Namche Bazaar from Lukla
8 November : 25 minutes flight took us to Lukla (Tenzing Hillary Airport), the gateway to Khumbu region and Sherpa culture. Flight by Goma Air was smooth, the mountain view was awesome.
Took lunch in Khumjung Lodge, the owner we called “Angi” was very kind.
Then we started our journey to Phakding. Took us around 3 hours to reach there. We trekked through dudhkoshi valley, crossed suspension bridge, the trail was breathtaking.
After we reached Phakding, we went up to a monastery climbing 200m, good to acclimatize. The monastery is 300 years old and was affected partly by the recent earthquake. We stayed at Tibet Guest house, owner Satyaman Tamang (Sonam) was very helpful and cheerful. pizza & dal bhaat helped omitting our hunger.

Scenic mountain view from Flight kathmandu to Lukla with Goma airlines.

9 November : Wake up at 8, nothing better to start a day with zinger tea. Had lunch around 0930 and started our journey to Namche Bazaar. Walked along with Dudhkoshi river crossed many suspension bridge connecting lower khumbu valley to upper valley. The final 3 hour uphill was physically demanding. Mountain slowly started to show up. Kongde ri, Thamserku were the first one.
After reaching Namche, hike up to the Everest view point. Unfortunately, weather was not good to view mountain. Visited monastery, offered prayer and roamed around Namche bazaar.

Nestling Namche Bazaar.

10 November : Started at around 10am after a breakfast. Unfortunately, we took a wrong way and had had to climb about 150m straight uphill to catch up main trail. We saw Mountain goat or Blue sheep. The final 2 hour to reach Tengboche was demanding, 10mins walk and 1 mins rest was a good strategy.
Reached Tenboche around 3 pm. took noodles soup & plate of rice. Weather already began getting cold and foggy. Visited a popular monastery here.
Stayed at Gomba Lodge, the owner also own the bakery café, which is off course full in the tea time.

11 November : Woke up late today because of long walk yesterday. Surprised looking through the window as mountains appeared very near. Couldn’t waste time, and rushed outside to see the beautiful Ama dablam (6812m) and others mountains. Foreigners were enjoying the view, the sun, making themselves busy taking photos, so do we.
After having breakfast, we started our journey to Phakding. Our plan was to walk the route in one day to Phakding which normally is two days. The downhill walk made the journey easy. Had lunch and small stop in Namche bazar.
It took us around 7 hours to reach Phakding from Tengboche. Stayed again at Tibet guest house.
Today is Laxmi Puja day of Tihar (Diwali) festival. The village was brightened with the colorful lights, flowers and Deusi Bhailo teams playing different songs and cultural dance.
Visited Reggae Bar, Liquid Bar, pool houses.

Direction to Benkar.

Tengboche village on the lap of mountain and beautiful monastery.

From Tengboche, further to Everest Base camp.

12 November : The last day of walking. A easy walk of 2 hours took us back to Lukla. Had a lunch and visited the shops around. Stayed at Khumjung lodge again.

!3 November : Flight day. Today we fly to Kathmandu. The Goma air was pack so the air staff managed us to arrange seat in Tara Air. Flight took off on 11:30. We were already in Kathmandu on 12 noon.
Weather was clear and mountain views was just mesmerizing.
